As the weekend approaches, I figure it might be an opportune time to briefly mention my intent as to why I write.
I have had a wonderful past 24 hrs, meeting many great folks from all walks of life, as well as catching up with a great friend and person who, like many of my friends, are currently in the phase of their lives where they are getting married and/or having children. Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing others enjoy all of the many fruits that life has to offer.
Although I do often write about my opinion that I think there is a lack of urgency on behalf of the politicians in power and the citizens who put them there, I do so not because I am pessimistic on the future.
In fact, it is quite the opposite. I have the utmost faith that we are fortunate enough that if we make some slight adjustments and realize that there is plenty of room for all of us to thrive (economics is not necessarily a zero-sum game), then the sky’s the limit.
As I wrote earlier this week, I share Erskine Bowles’ desire not to see my generation have a lower standard of living than my parents’ generation. I do not think that goal is unreasonable or unrealistic, and I am merely giving my 2 cents as to how best to begin to ensure that goal is reached.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend with family and friends. Much love.
